Griha pravesh menu and quantities for 50 to 200 guests

The short answer

A griha pravesh meal follows the puja: prasad first, then a vegetarian lunch with dal, paneer, one sabzi, rice, roti and a sweet. For 100 guests plan about 9 kg of dal, 18 kg of sabzi (paneer counts as one), 9 kg of rice, 250 rotis and 12 kg of sweets.

Can griha pravesh food be Jain or without onion and garlic?

Yes. A menu without onion and garlic, or a Jain line without root vegetables, can be planned for the puja day. Tell Baljeet before the menu is fixed. Jain food is quoted as its own line; see the Jain catering page.

04

Is the food cooked at home or brought from the kitchen?

The food is cooked at the kitchen in Ramgarh, Panchkula and brought in sealed containers to your home or hall. For a small house, a live roti counter at the venue is an option. Serving staff can be quoted with the food.

05

When should the griha pravesh meal be served?

After the havan and puja. The muhurat is set by your pandit, so send Baljeet the puja time and the serving hour. Lunch is the common choice; dinner is also possible.
